Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must live.

A Photographic Project by Asa Gilmore

I’ve got an art show coming up in September! It will be at Discology, a cool little music store above Satellite and Blue Moon Pizza on California Ave. The reception will be a fun night…besides Pabst Blue Ribbon and the usual art reception stuff, I’m organizing an after party at Tonic featuring local bands Knightfall and The Flesh Hammers (and perhaps others). Mark your calendars!

Art Slaves of Reno

I’ve got a piece in the A2N2 annual Art Slaves show. It’s located at the Montage Sales Gallery in downtown Reno at 155 West Second Street. There’s a reception on Thursday July 10 from 5-9 PM…come down and check it out!

For those of you who can’t make it, here’s the image that I have in the show. This was another photo expedition with my illustrious colleague Daniel Newton. It was a long night. Lots of coffee involved.

More photos from Ft. Churchill

I finished the editing on most of the Churchill shots. This is one of my favorites:

Fashion at Fort Churchill

I’ve been organizing a fashion shoot at Fort Churchill for a few months now. Finally, all the pieces came together. Permit from the State Park System, insurance coverage, etc…a lot of work went into this shoot, but it was worth it.

Blackie Crabtree

He’s the singer and bass player for the awesome local band The Flesh Hammers. They’re on tour in So Cal this weekend. You’ll be seeing another music video and some more photos for them soon.

My new Business Card

business-card

I’ve got the corporate look under control with my commercial site, Ruckus Visual Arts. But I’ve been wanting an alternate card…something that would give people a hint of the more eccentric, rock & roll side of my photo work. I’ve had this concept in mind for a while. The sign pictured is in my neighborhood, right in between a vacuum repair shop and a barbecure joint. Also note the bitchin’ scorpion bolo tie.

This photo was taken by my friend Dan Newton. He featured another shot from the same series on his blog here…check it out!

My Friend Fluffy

Fluffy went to American Flats. There’s talk of Fluffy becoming the high priest of a new religion. I’ll keep you posted.

The Grannies - Wheelchair Series

Before the shoot I obtained a wheelchair and some crutches from a friend. Ever seen punk rockers in wheelchairs before?
